  1. Something significant that I changed my mind about in the last year is being more open to embrace and try new things .before this year I was very close minded ,stuck in the same routine , didn’t want to try new things . However since then I’ve learned to loosen up a bit. Somethings I’ve done since changing my mind about being open minded is zip lining, hiking, going out more .I think it’s good to change your mind about certain things because you may be missing out on things if you don’t .

  2. If you were to ask me the same question a year ago, my answer would be nothing. At that point in my life I was very naive and really did not care much about the people I had around me nor the energy that was surrounding me. Everyone around me except for me could see that the poor choices I made in friends really had a big effect on my life. As time went on I grew more mature and my so called "friends" around me, slowly started to fade away. I learned to love myself and be comfortable with being myself and not trying to pretend to be someone that I was not. The fewer people I had around me the more I grew into a better person. Changing my mind about who my friends were going to be helped me tremendously in school. All of my hard worked paid off eventually and I am happy to say that now I am a college student; one that is ready to learn and grow more as a young individual.

  3. Within the last year, I have become much more social and interactive with people around me. Usually I am very quiet and do not speak unless directly spoken to, but over the last year I have learned to speak up for myself and voice my opinions where ever or what ever I am doing. I used to always be nervous about being different or standing out in a bad way, but there is no way to stand out in a good way if you don't express to others what is on your mind.

  4. A change that happened in the past year for me would be definitely how I view life, more specifically school. I was always on top of my studies, disregarding hanging out with friends and other social activities. Something clicked in my head last year and it made me realize that if I don’t have friends to share life experiences, it will hurt me the most. I am not saying that I will abandon my studies, but more of I can share what I learn with others including the friends that I will make.

  5. Over the last year I've been more open about trying to get to know new people. Growing up I was very shy, but recently I have decided that if I am still going to be shy about certain things then I won't grow. I have decided to try new things slowly over time so I don't push myself past my limits and I think that so far a few things are working. My brother is actually very social and goes out a lot which is one of the things that made me think twice about trying to be more open. Seeing as he is younger than me too was another push for me to branch out to try different things.

  6. Something significant that I have changed my mind about in the last year was my decision to dorm or to commute. I feel as though it is a significant decision because I would not have had the same experiences that I would have commuting as I would dorming. I like it a lot better here its way more fun and its not as hard to get out of bed and go to class. Commuting would have been a lot harder for me especially since my family has only one car. (this is Djared Campbell its not letting my sign into my account again)

  7. Something significant that I have changed my mind about this year is going to college away from home. Even though Kean is only an hour away from me, the thought of leaving home and my family just didn’t seem possible. I was considering to go to community college, not that community college is a bad thing but both my parents thought I should have the experience of the typical “college life” by dorming and experiencing college life on campus. Deep down though, I new Kean was the better option for me to help me grow and find myself as a person. I got used to a routine at home and I was fine with that, but seeing my peers from high school getting excited to leave and go to college made me feel like I should be just as excited. I was thinking of all the negatives before coming here and almost forgetting about all the positives and the opportunity i’m getting that not many kids may get. I am thankful for my parents for making this possible and I will be having high hopes for Kean and the new experiences I will endure.

  8. Something significant that I have recently changed my mind about is if the choice of living alone was a good one. I have been living on my own for the past year, yes there has been some struggles and I have changed my mind about living alone sometimes but I'm glad that I didn't change it completely and that I still live alone. I am glad that I didn't change my mind because now I see my parents have more of a life then before as well as the choice of going and moving where ever they want. So my choice of living alone was good and I'm glad I took it.

  9. One that that I have changed my mind about last year was what I wanted to major in college. Originally I wanted to major in engineering but after taking computer science classes at school and coding on my own I felt like it would be a better fit for me. Usually when I make a decision about something I stick to it. I’m glad I made this decision and hope to be successful in this field.

  10. One thing in my life that I have recently given thought about in the past year was how I viewed the world around me. I always used to have resentment towards our world and the people in it. I thought that way because I felt as if so many terrible things were happening in the world, and no one was doing anything to stop them. As a result, I had hatred towards people and felt like there was no hope for this world. I recently changed my mind about that opinion, because I had came to a realization that there has to be some good in the world and that if a person can change, the world can also.

Something significant that I changed my mind about in the last year was the college in which I decided to go to. Originally I had chosen Howard University however the distance was something that had discouraged me because I didn’t want to be too far from home. I also did not want to be far from friends. I thought it was important that I stayed close as well as connected to the people that played big roles in my life.

  12. something significant that I changed my mind about, is not to live in another country because Its not what I wanted to do. It was the easy way route but I very straightforward route. Plus I would have given everyone around me what they thought I should do because it was the safe route. But I decided to do what I wanted to do and stopped caring about what they wanted me to do.

  13. The one thing that I have changed my mind about within the last year is the purchase of my car. For many years I've dreamt about owning a sports car. I have multiple favorite cars and I test drove dozens of them and they all felt amazing, which is the reason it took me so long to purchase a vehicle. After many months of test driving cars, I finally chose to not buy a sports car and I ended up purchasing a Jeep Cherokee. The main reasons to why I gave up on purchasing a sports car are: The suv was cheaper, New Jersey weather is bipolar and changes everyday, gas mileage in sports cars aren't great, and I witnessed a car accident where an suv had more damage than the sports car it collided with and the person in the suv came out with a couple scratches and the lady in the sports car ended up not making it. Since I drive around with my siblings in the car I wanted something that is safe and reliable. Those reasons made me realize that with the way New Jersey drivers are, it was a smarter decision to purchase a Jeep Cherokee than any of the cars I dream of driving.

  14. The one significant thing that I changed my mind about is being open-minded. in the past years, I was listening to my opinion and not accept anyone advice. I was Less careless about my studying and doing the homework. My parent were advising me. Finally, I began to satisfy with their opinion and studied a lot to achieve my goal and to have the life that I have been searching for. I started to talk to the people and share our ideas together, and I took their recommendation in my life and discussed the ideas with them if I did not like it.

Over the course of the year, one significant thing that I've changed my mind on is my outlook on community involvement. I have always considered my self very introverted person, my social skills were not exactly the best. That was until I met my best-friend who was the complete opposite, she helped me change my mind on the importance of community involvement and encouraged me to become part of so many nice things around my community.
