What influenced me in the direction of my major was a combination of what my dad does and what my mom likes as well as how I look at my major. First of all, my major is interior design; the way I see my major is that I can help people. I can provide them with a home that is more than just a house even though they are paying for it, I still like the motive and what is being done. The other reason as to why I chose interior design is because my dad is a construction worker he does a similar job and ever since I was a little girl he has thought me how to build and create stuff. My mothers' side is a little more unprofessional and more out of love and passion, my mother loves to decorate and have everything in place and I got that from her. These combinations have lead me to where I am and where I want to be.
What influenced me into the the direction of my major is the passion that I have in helping others. I will be majoring in Business. Going deep into things that im interested in will be more on creating my own foundations for refugees, considering that I have immigrant parents who fled their country due to war like situations. This empowered me so much to make sure that people around the world have a helping hand. Aspects that I enjoy from my major are being curious and ready to improve on company operations also, not being afraid to share my own opinion and rules. Another reason I chose business is because im very well rounded and will like to own my own company one day on things like organic foreign skin and health products just because I have a strong love for taking care of myself and I would not mind helping someone to do the same.
what influenced me into the direction of my major was taking an architecture class in high school.I will be majoring in architecture. in the class I was able to learn how to design and create floor plans for houses and buildings. I was also able to tour a new building that was under construction. after taking this class I knew that majoring in architecture would be something that I would be interested in. hopefully by majoring in architecture I will be able to create and design new and innovative buildings.
By the time I was in middle school I knew that I wanted to have a career relating to math, science or computers. I knew what I liked and was good at so I did research on a specific profession that I heard of which is Intelligence Analyst. I became interested in the career and started to look for majors that went with the career. Knowing what subjects I liked influenced my decision in choosing a career which led to my major, Computer Science.
When I originally injured my knee when playing football I came to the realization of what I wanted to do in college. As a kid I always knew I would go into either the health or science field but I was not sure what profession I would pursue. After going through the healing process with my knee injury I realized that Physical Therapy was right for me because it involved two of my passions which are helping people and the human body.
What influenced me about going into the direction of Interior Design is simply the fact that it seemed like something I was immediately drawn to. Having a dad who is in the art/design field had already established an interest in something to do with art or design ever since I was a little girl. I am also a very observant kind of person so I notice many details and I feel Interior Design fits me and is something I could really enjoy. I also have been working for a home builders company, Toll Brothers Inc, where I go to their model homes and maintain these homes by dusting and mopping floors from the potential buyers who came and looked at these homes; and thats where I got an up close look at the interior design of these homes and what I can possibly be doing one day.
Who influenced me the most towards my major was my father. He is an IT at a hospital and he used to come home with laptops and computers he needed to fix for his job. I thought it was so cool the way he made the computer bend to his will and get them to work correctly and efficiently. In sum my father was the biggest benefactor to my decision of choosing computers science as my major. (This is by Djared Campbell it’s not letting me sign into my Kean email.)
The biggest inspiration for me to major in computer science was because of my parents and how they raised me. Growing up, I was surrounded by computers, phones and video games. My parents always told me to find something that I enjoy and try to make a career out of it. I enjoy being around technology because there is so much I want to learn from computers, how they function and how programs are created. This lead to me majoring in computer science and I could not be any happier.
What influenced me the most towards my major is that I've been surrounded by physical therapy for so long that I want it to be my future. Ever since I was a kid I knew I wanted to do something in sports. I always thought it would be as an athlete. But it all changed when I tore my ACL for the first time. Seeing how much physical therapy helps athletes recover from injuries, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. And when I tore my ACL for the second time, it was set in stone that I wanted to become a physical therapist to help kids just like me recover from major injuries. Physical therapy was in my life for the past three years, and now I want it to be in my life forever.
What influenced me into the direction of my major is my interest in art and the classes I took in high school. I am majoring in interior design because I wanted a career where I could be expressive in something I love to do. My dad is also a contractor, which also caught my interest when I was younger. I am great at communicating and working with people, and always want to help in any way I can. I have always wanted to make a difference in people's lives, and I can do that through design.
The person who inspired me most was my middle school math teacher. When I was in middle school I was not very good at math and my teacher wasn’t very good at teaching it. I always felt discouraged when doing it since I never seemed to get it right or memorized properly. I was able to transfer schools after I was done with the school year and honestly it was the best thing that could have happened to me. When I was in my new school I was excited for new people, but still was dreading math class since I was still let down about how bad I was at it. My new math teacher Mr. Laurence, was amazing and made learning math again fun and interesting. It’s what made me want to do something in the future with the subject that I now enjoy doing.
From a very young age I wanted to choose a career in which I would be able to help people. I have always enjoyed meeting new people, traveling and learning about new cultures. Finding a career that incorporates all of these was very difficult to find but eventually I decided to major in interior design. Therefore, upon my freshman year in high school I took foreign language, art and drafting classes until senior year. Senior year I was able to work in an architectural firm, which I currently still work in and honestly I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity. I have been able to learn so much from the architects and engineers and most importantly have been able to meet people from all different aspects of life. Art and my loved ones have always been my motivation to strive to become a better person and designer and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
The thing that influenced me toward of my major was when I had got a computer. I remember in elementary school my dad brought had gotten me a new HP computer. From there I was fascinated about all the thing that it could do. I would take apart pieces of the computer and examine it, getting familiar with what each part is used for. Over the years I have always been good with technology. Often when people are having problems with the something that is technology related, I am the person that they come to. Computer science has always interested me the reason why I want to pursue a career in that field.
The choice of my major was influenced in a majority of ways. The first time I was influenced was when my Mother gave me a book about the body which also came with a DVD. I would watch the video and read the book numerous times until I was very familiar with it. Later in life, I would go on to take my first health class in High School which then made my interest grow more in heath and the body. My interest grew to an extent that in my Junior year of High School I chose to volunteer at a Physical Therapy Office. I volunteered there for 10 months and shadowed the Physical Therapist to learn what they do and how the office works. After I finished volunteering, I knew that I would want to pursue that career path. I am a person that loves anything that involves heath or the body that is why I chose to pursue my major.
The person who influenced me was a family friend. I was going to go run to the military because I thought It was the easy way out but he didnt let me leave until I gave him three good reasons why, which I couldnt. He then asked me what I wanted to be and I said a nurse and I could easily give him three good reasons why. I want to help people and make them happy. But I was scared I wont do good in college and I would fail. Then he showed me his life. He was basically out of high school due to comas and run aways and in college he partied the whole time. He considered himself a failure too. But he worked hard and he was in MEDICAL SCHOOL in New York then dropped out and now hes in the Grenada in medical school. What im trying to say is that we dont know whats going to happen. He ended in the Carribeans and was a failure but now has a "fancy" credit card. He said I have to finesse myself and follow what I want to do even if I think I cant. So, that is why I picked this major.
The person who influenced me towards my major was my older sister. She was my biggest inspiration because she spent many years trying to find a career she would like to pursue and in the process of helping her i was able to find my myself intrigued with the school of business. She found her passion in nursing and although she may have not been able to fulfill them she always encouraged me to do something I love. I am very intrigued with the school of business being that its a degree that can land you just about everywhere. Its something i really look forward to studying this upcoming semester.
The person that influenced me towards my major of Computer Science has always been my uncle. Since I was a little boy, he always was doing his work in his computer and I was sitting next to him in another computer. Ever since I have always pursued my interest to technology. Today, I'm always interested in researching what is the newest thing in technology. Technology is something that is always going to change and that's what I like about it because I can see which direction it takes. With my major I can know what I want to do about it, who knows even create something new out of it.
I made the choice of my major at very young age. Always getting really sick, breaking bones very easily and losing use of my muscles with no answers to what was happening sent me on many visits to the hospital, which always ended up with physical therapy. In my physical therapy sessions, I would regain my strength back at an extremely slow pace for my age. When you're younger you heal at a faster pace, but that wasn't the case for me. Since I'm such a sensitive person, I would get upset and give up because I couldn't do the things that would "make me heal faster" because my body wasn't physically ready. I never had the same PT and I would always get mad that I would have to explain my story over and over, but now that I am older and understand more, I have come to realize that they were only trying to help me. By listening to my story and helping me regain my strength back no matter how aggravated I got, all the physical therapists I ever had are the main reason I chose my major so that one day I can give back and do what they did for me to someone who needs it as much as I did.
What influenced me in the direction of my major of Biology especially Physical Therapy was my friends because I only hangout with college friends and most of them are in Biology major, sometimes when we hangouts they keep talking about the things that they take in college and how their life will be after taking the degree and finishing college, so I decide to go into that major and be one like them, and be successful and get my degree and work and make a great life.
